We wish our readers, designers and fellow bloggers a very Happy New Year and thank you for following our lil ole blog in the last year with such great interest. We're now at approx. 6k views per month and think this is quite an achievement for people who feature anything from kimono to the occasional couture post.
And we also felt it is time for some minor changes to our blogging. If you don't care and just want to see where these awesome new mesh kimono are from, just skip the ramblings and go straight to the credits.
1) Fundraisers
We will no longer participate in personal fundraisers, i.e. those raising money for a single person, as we feel this has gotten a bit out of control lately. Throw a prim rock and you'll hit a venue hosting a fundraiser for someone's pet, health or computer issues. We are sorry this happens to people but the world is not perfect. However, we'll most happily join events aimed to raise money for regional disaster relief or for approved organizations such as The Red Cross or Médecins Sans Frontières etc.
2) Templates
We have always supported designers of original content and deeply loathe items made of templates. Some creators surely do a great job texturing pre-made mesh items etc. but we feel this is forcing designers of original content to charge less for their hard work and fostering a 'low budget' culture in SL. You can rely on those items we feature here to be 100% original content.
3) Mesh
So far we have stated whether an item is mesh or not. We don't do that anymore. Mesh and mesh-compatible viewers have become a standard in SL and looking at our last posts we noticed that we hardly wear any non-mesh items anymore. If you haven't upgraded yet, maybe this would be the perfect New Year's Resolution - yes, this is an ironic tongue-in-cheek comment.
4) SLURLs
The SL environment constantly changes, stores and event locations move pretty often and it's hard to keep SLURLs up to date. So instead of providing SLURLs we'll now state the creators' names as those usually have a pick with their current store locations in their profiles. Once we get seriously bored we'll work on a separate Designer Directory with all SLURLs and marketplace URLs but this will take a while.
That's about it. Nothing huge, just some minor adjustments to the ever changing virtual world and to our personal preferences. Thanks for reading.
